Maiden attempt at fairy tale

A fairy tale ...

Long, long ago, in the tallest tower of the highest peak in the middle of everywhere, there was a giant library full of books. But, this library was long deserted but for a solitary occupant, the one known only as 'The Bookworm Princess'. She spent most of her waking hours devoring book after book including volumes of Advaita Vedanta and Upanishads and the favorite Shakespearean classics.

Down below, in the everyday world, while girls of her age played the games that girls of her age play, she preferred to build a fortress of knowledge for herself that would serve her in good stead for the years to come.

One fine day, unbeknowst to her, a young man, her 'prince charming', got smitten by her after hearing tales about her. Seeking her, he started riding his steed, a buffalo, the daintiest ever seen in the world. Well, he wasn't exactly 'prince charming' as you and I know, but he was a princely one in his own right and his own charms that worked on a few.

After fighting the smelly dragon and jumping past the burping springs, many a day later, he managed to reach the peak of the mountain and at the entrance of the library, he found the bookworm princess, lost in her own world, reading her eternal favorite of Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' for the 253rd time, shedding tears of bliss reading the description about Romeo.

In that moment, she lifted her head up and her jaws dropped down, for she indeed had found her Romeo. Unable to trust her eyes, she stood up. He held her in his arms and soon they were locked in true love's first kiss. She soon sensed a weakness building up her knees as she swooned, only to be swept off her feet by the 'prince charming' and off they rode on the noble steed oops buffalo into the setting sun in the distant horizon. Legend has it that they lived happily ever after, eventhough the princess never again read a book! :)
